According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Woodland. Officials confirmed that one person died and three people sustained injuries due to the motor vehicle accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred near Court Street and College Street. A car was being erratically driven by a 13-year-old boy. The car then collided with two other vehicles, which resulted in two cars catching on fire.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Three others were hospitalized sustaining injuries.

The driver of the car that caused the accident was taken into custody. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter and negligence and evading causing injuries.

Other insights into the collision including the identity of the deceased person remain unknown.

The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
