A man in his 20s received serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning near Vail.
As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 9 a.m. on Interstate 10. The early reports indicated that the man ran onto the freeway directly in the way of the vehicle that hit him at around 9 a.m. He was rushed to a Tucson hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and was questioned by troopers. The eastbound lanes of I-10 were blocked at milepost 279 during the investigation, but have since reopened. No other details have been provided by the authorities.
The incident remains under review.
