Woman injured after a hit-and-run crash on the South Side (San Antonio, TX)

On Saturday, a woman suffered injuries following a two-vehicle collision on the South Side.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place in the 400 block of Commercial Avenue at about 10:47 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that a gray car was heading south on Commercial Avenue. Just then, a blue car traveling at a high rate of speed rear-ended the right bumper of the gray car.

The force of the crash caused the gray car to be redirected across the northbound lanes of Commercial Avenue and smash into a metal fence. According to the responders, a passenger in the gray car sustained major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. At last check, she was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the blue car drove away from the scene after the accident, but officers said that the car was found moments after the crash. Once the driver is found, they will be charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid, officials mentioned. No additional information has been provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
