A woman lost her life following a two-vehicle accident Thursday night in Tempe.
As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place along 10th Place, south of University and Priest drives at about 4:40 p.m. Officers actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found a woman with major injuries. She was rushed to a hospital where she later died of her injuries.
Police only described the victim as a woman in her late 20s. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. It is unknown if the driver will face any charges, but police have ruled out impairment. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
