Vehicle slams into to a fire hydrant in Los Angeles, sending water gushing about 70 feet high (Los Angeles, CA)

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle hitting a fire hydrant in front of Red Robin Restaurant at Northridge Mall.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place in the 9300 block of Tampa Avenue in the city of Northridge. The early reports showed that a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant, sending water gushing about 70 feet high.

The emergency crews were able to shut off the water within 20 minutes from time of arrival. The incident did not cause any damage to the nearby businesses. It is unknown if anyone was injured in the wreck. It is also unclear if the driver left or remained at the scene of the accident. No further details are available.
