Teen injured after a bicycle crash in Spokane (Spokane, WA)

On Sunday afternoon, a teen suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Spokane.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place on 23rd Avenue and Pines Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that the teen was riding on an electric bike when his bicycle cut in front of the car before being hit. On arrival, emergency personnel took the cyclist to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Officials confirmed that the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The driver of the involved vehicle will not face any charges as of now. It did not seem that drugs or impairment contributed to the accident, authorities said. The road was temporarily shut down to traffic as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
