Several people hurt after a multi-vehicle pile-up in Sierra Vista (Sierra Vista, AZ)

On Friday, 14 people suffered minor injuries following simultaneous wrecks involving seven vehicles in Sierra Vista.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Charleston Road at approximately 3 p.m. after getting reports of a multi-vehicle wreck. Authorities initially responded after getting reports of a head-on crash near the DMV and found seven vehicles involved in multiple collisions, closing both lanes of Charleston Road.

A helicopter was requested to be on standby, but was later canceled. 14 people received minor injuries as a result of the accidents, but no one was taken to the hospital. According to the reports, the first crash involved a Honda Civic that was hit by a Honda minivan from behind and both cars pulled over off road.

The second crash happened when a red Ford Taurus crashed into another vehicle, followed by a white Kia SUV hitting the rear of a green Toyota Camry. The impact of the collision sent the Camry into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Chevy Traverse traveling east. Officers confirmed two citations for failure to control speed to avoid a crash. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
