Pickup truck went down a shallow embankment in Santa Clarita (Santa Clarita, CA)

On Thursday, a pickup truck and its attached horse-hauling trailer fell into a shallow embankment in Santa Clarita.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash was reported at about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Via Princessa and Golden Valley Road, next to the Arboleda Trailhead in Canyon Country. On arrival, responders found that several horses were removed from the trailer and tied to posts.

Firefighters worked to recover the vehicles from the edge of the embankment. The horses were able to walk out of the trailer and were not taken to the hospital. The extent of any injuries suffered remains unknown to the public as of Friday afternoon. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
