The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Seatac on Thursday morning. The accident happened on Interstate 5, just south of south 200th Street.
The WSP stated that the driver had been moving at a high speed when he lost control, crossed all lanes, crashed, and rolled over the vehicle.
His passenger was thrown from the vehicle and incurred fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to Harborview Hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, the driver may have been drinking or using drugs when they were behind the wheel. He is currently being detained on suspicion of homicide by vehicle. The fatal crash is being investigated.
