One person seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

On Tuesday night, one person was seriously injured following a violent traffic crash involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway.

As per the early reports, a motorcyclist collided head on with a white car waiting at a red light. At this time, driving under the influence or distracted driving are not believed to have caused the accident.

Officers closed down the traffic on Cherry Avenue between 17th Street and PCH for a few hours while crews worked at the scene. It is not yet clear what caused the collision. No other details have been released regarding the incident.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
