One person died after getting hit by a vehicle Saturday on the Sam Houston Tollway in southwest Houston.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at around 11:10 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Beechnut. Authorities actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found the pedestrian dead.
On the other hand, the driver who struck the person reportedly remained at the scene. Southbound traffic was rerouted for over two hours during an investigation. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The incident remains under review.
