Officials identified 69-year-old Carlos Fuentes Padilla who died after a crash on I-20 (Stanton, TX)

Authorities identified 69-year-old Carlos Fuentes Padilla, of San Antonio, as the man who lost his life after a traffic accident on the I-20 south service road on Christmas Day.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. The preliminary reports showed that 69-year-old Carlos Fuentes Padilla, of Elmendorf, died after his Ford F-150 pickup crashed into a 2008 Peterbuilt truck tractor with trailer.

The reports further revealed that Padilla’s pickup was heading east on the service road about 1 mile east of Stanton in Martin County. The reports also stated that Padilla failed to yield right of way at a posted field intersection. At that point of time, the truck tractor struck Padilla’s pickup. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
