Authorities identified 65-year-old Russell Jay Gibbs as the man who lost his life following a bicycle crash on Wednesday morning in Orange.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of 4500 Highway 62 north, just before 8:30 a.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer crashed into a bicycle for unknown reasons.

The bicyclist, Russell Jay Gibbs, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
