Officials identified 63-year-old Calvin Richardson who died after he got hit by a car in Shreveport (Shreveport, LA)

On Tuesday night, authorities identified 63-year-old Calvin Richardson as the man in a wheelchair who lost his life after he got hit by a vehicle when he crossed a major Shreveport Street on Sunday evening.

The fatal crash took place in the 4000 block of Greenwood Road and Golf Links Boulevard at 5:49 p.m. According to the investigation reports, Richardson was crossing near Greenwood Road when he got struck by a red Saturn SUV as it was going east on Greenwood Road.

He sustained multiple traumatic injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the scene moments after 5:50 p.m. Sunday. Driver impairment is not suspected to be involved. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation continues.
