Authorities identified 41-year-old Casey Randall Reeves, of Kinder, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident in Allen Parish.

The investigation reports showed that Casey Randall Reeves died when a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck hit the scooter he was riding from behind at about 4:30 a.m. on La. 26, approximately two miles east of La. 377. The reports further revealed that the 1989 Yamaha Razz scooter Reeves was operating did not have any lights.

Reeves and the scooter were heading west on La. 26 when the fatal incident occurred. Reeves was thrown from the scooter due to the impact and was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was wearing a seatbelt and remained unharmed in the collision. A toxicology sample was taken from the driver of the Dodge and sent for analysis.

The crash remains under review.
