Officials identified 31-year-old Liam Rodriguez who died after a car crash in San Diego (San Diego, CA)

Authorities identified 31-year-old Liam Rodriguez as the man who lost his life following a single-vehicle crash Monday night in San Diego.

The fatal car accident was reported at about 9:50 p.m. in the 5600 block of Chollas Parkway. The preliminary reports revealed that Rodriguez lost control of his sedan following which the car ran off the road and flipped over. He was thrown from his vehicle as he was not buckled up at the time of the crash.

He was declared dead at the scene by the responders. His city of residence remains unknown at this time. Officials are trying to find out if speed or impairment contributed to the accident. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
