Officials identified 22-year-old Jada Taylor Gipson who died after a rear-end collision in Culver City (Culver City, CA)

Officials identified 22-year-old Jada Taylor Gipson, of Palmdale, as the woman who lost her life after a rear-end collision Saturday in Culver City.

The fatal two-vehicle accident took place at 10:16 p.m. near La Cienega Boulevard and Wrightcrest Drive. The preliminary reports showed that Gipson was driving a car southbound on La Cienega when her vehicle hit the back of another vehicle, veered off the roadway and slammed into a light pole splitting it in two.

Gipson was the sole occupant of the vehicle. She died of her injuries at the scene. No details are available regarding the condition of the other driver.

An investigation is ongoing.
