Officials identified 16-year-old Richard Crawley who died after an auto-pedestrian crash in San Diego (San Diego, CA)

Authorities identified 16-year-old Richard Crawley as the teenager who was killed after getting struck by a vehicle Monday morning in San Diego.

The fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of Mercury Street and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at around 7:40 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that Crawley was walking south in a crosswalk against a red light when a pickup truck going west on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard struck him.

The driver of the involved vehicle, only identified as a 26-year-old woman, had a green light at that time. On arrival, responders immediately took the pedestrian to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
