Authorities identified 16-year-old Richard Crawley as the teenager who was killed after getting struck by a vehicle Monday morning in San Diego.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of Mercury Street and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at around 7:40 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that Crawley was walking south in a crosswalk against a red light when a pickup truck going west on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard struck him.
The driver of the involved vehicle, only identified as a 26-year-old woman, had a green light at that time. On arrival, responders immediately took the pedestrian to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries. No other details are available.
