Motorcyclists killed after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 33 near Marshall Road (Merced County, CA)

On Wednesday morning, two people lost their lives following a motorcycle accident on Highway 33.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 8:00 a.m. on Highway 33 near Marshall Road. The preliminary investigation showed that a southbound motorcycle collided with a GMC truck for reasons that are yet to be known.

The force of the collision threw the male motorcycle rider and his female passenger into the road. Shortly after, a semi struck the motorcycle, and probably the victims who were already on the road. The driver of the semi-truck left the scene after hitting the victims.

Both the victims succumbed to their injuries after the crash. Officials believe that the foggy weather in the area contributed to the wreck. The semi-truck was described as a white tractor-trailer that may have had front-end damage. No other details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
