Motorcyclist killed after a single-vehicle crash in Palmdale (Palmdale, CA)

On Sunday afternoon, a man lost his life following a single-vehicle crash in Palmdale, authorities said.

The fatal motorcycle accident took place at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, on 90th Street East, close to Avenue M. The initial investigation of the crash revealed that victim was traveling northbound on 90th Street East, at around 65 mph, and for reasons that are yet to be known, lost control of his 1996 Kawasaki motorcycle and crashed onto the highway.

The victim was pinned under the motorcycle and it caught fire. A helicopter was requested at the scene which airlifted the bike rider to Antelope Valley Hospital. However, he died of his injuries about three hours later at the hospital.

His identity has not yet been revealed pending next of kin notification, but he was in his 40s, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s. No other details have been provided by the officials regarding this accident.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
