Motorcyclist dead after a three-vehicle pile-up on Interstate 10 (Redlands, CA)

On Tuesday morning, a man lost his life following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 10.

As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place at about 9:00 a.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 10 near Tennessee Street. The early reports showed that the motorcyclist was going at a high rate of speed when he failed to maintain control. The motorcycle smashed into two vehicles as a result of which the rider was thrown from his bike.

The motorcycle reportedly got engulfed in flames due to the crash. The man died of his injuries at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Officials closed some westbound lanes and announced a Sig Alert until at least 11:30 a.m. as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
