Man injured after an auto-pedestrian crash in Tustin (Tustin, CA)

On Saturday evening, a man suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Tustin.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and Newport Avenue. The preliminary investigation showed that a suspected DUI driver hit the man.

On arrival, officers found a man on the roadway and rendered first aid until the emergency personnel arrived. The pedestrian was then taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle parked the vehicle nearby and was detained after failing field sobriety tests.

Both the driver and unidentified female passenger remained unharmed in the accident. Authorities closed all northbound lanes of Newport Avenue at Walnut Avenue for approximately an hour as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
