On Sunday evening, a man was injured following an ATV accident in Knox County.
As per the initial information, officers were called to the area of Dry Gap Pike in Powell on reports of a single-vehicle crash a little before 9:00 p.m. On arrival, first responders had to call in more resources as the victim’s exact location was initially unknown.
After two hours of searching, both by ground and air, the man and his ATV were found by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in a valley just off the ridgeline near Hurst Road. Emergency crews arrived and render aid to the victim.
He was rushed to a local hospital with traumatic injuries. The identity of the injured victim has not been released at this time. No other information has been provided by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing.
