A man lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle Saturday evening in Westminster.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway. The preliminary reports showed that a man was walking in the center divider of the 22 Freeway when he was hit by a vehicle. The man was located on the eastbound 22 Freeway at Brookhurst Street around 9 p.m.

He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. It is unknown if the driver involved remained at the scene or not after the accident. It was also unclear why the man was on the freeway. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
