On Wednesday afternoon, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in Bremerton.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at approximately 1 p.m. on Warren Avenue and Eighth Street. Shortly before the accident, a police officer and witnesses had seen a pair of motorcyclists speeding southbound on Warren Avenue. The officer turned around to start a traffic stop and found the crash scene.
Reports revealed that one of the motorcycles had slammed into a vehicle that was turning out onto Warren Avenue. According to the authorities, speed played a factor in the wreck. The motorcycle died of his injuries after the collision. The driver of the vehicle that the motorcycle hit remained unharmed. The second motorcyclist, a friend of the deceased man, stayed at the scene.
That man was placed into custody and booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of reckless driving and unlawful possession of a firearm charges. A part of Warren Avenue was shut down for around two and a half hours as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.
The crash remains under investigation.
