Male pedestrian dead after a hit-and-run crash near Downtown (San Antonio, TX)

On Monday, a man lost his life following an auto-pedestrian collision just South of Downtown.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 9:30 p.m. along the Interstate 10 and Interstate 37 interchange. The early reports showed that a man was crossing the highway when he got struck by a car in the left lane. The pedestrian was reportedly wearing dark clothes and the area he was walking in was very dark.

The driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The suspect is now facing a possible charge of failing to stop and render aid. The lanes of I-10 were closed for multiple hours, but they have since reopened. Officers are looking for the suspect. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
