On Wednesday, a juvenile lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in Gun Barrel City.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:12 a.m. in the area of South Gun Barrel Lane near Stillwater Street. The early reports showed that a vehicle struck a pedestrian for undetermined reasons.
On arrival, responders found a male juvenile dead. The suspect vehicle left the scene and traveled south on South Gun Barrel Lane and then west on to Harmon Road. Officers found the suspect vehicle at an address on Harmon Road and arrested a male suspect, 30-year-old Casey Dylan Jeffrey and a female suspect, 30-year-old Brooke Leann South.
Reports further added that Casey Dylan Jeffrey was driving the suspect vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Mabank police officers also responded to the scene to provide assistance. No further details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
