On early Sunday, a 27-year-old Hayward woman was killed and another person received major injuries after a car went off the road in Brentwood and slammed into a fence.
As per the initial information, Brentwood officers actively responded to the area of Concord Avenue and Bacchini Lane at 1:40 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle crash. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle was heading eastbound on Concord Avenue when it veered off the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into a wooden split-rail fence.
The female passenger in the vehicle lost her life as a result of the accident. The driver of the vehicle sustained major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Police estimated that Concord Avenue will remain blocked until about 9 a.m. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
