Driver saved after truck, SUV strike on Seattle’s Airport Way (Seattle, WA)

One man was rescued and moved to the hospital immediately on Friday after an SUV struck a truck on Airport Way in Seattle’s SODO district.

Police and emergency teams responded and reached at the scene swiftly, near Airport Way and South College Street, at around 10:50 a.m. Friday after receiving calls of a severe crash.

A ravaged Dodge Durango and a partly damaged Seattle City Light utility truck were seen at the place of accident.

The driver of the Dodge Durango was stuck inside his vehicle and firefighters were successful in taking him out safely. He was rushed to the hospital in a health condition that was out of danger.

Two other people also were provided medical attention at the scene for minimal injuries.

An initial inquiry revealed that the driver of the Dodge Durango was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Airport Way and slammed into the utility truck, which then crashed into a power pole.

All lanes of Airport Way were shut down at the scene after the crash but later opened again.
