An SUV smashed into a pole, killing the driver in Santa Fe Springs on early Thursday morning.
The incident took place at about 2 a.m. at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Norwalk Boulevard. As per the Whittier police, a car was heading east on Telegraph Road when the driver lost balance and the SUV crashed into a light pole. The driver died on the scene and the officials have not released the identity of the victim as yet.
Authorities have closed down the intersection while police continue to investigate the crash. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident, police said.
