Darion Causey dead after a motorcycle crash in Slidell (Slidell, LA)

Authorities identified Darion Causey as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday evening on the North Shore in Slidell.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place a little before 9:00 p.m. on Old Spanish Trail. The preliminary reports showed that a Ford Escape was traveling east on Old Spanish Trail when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto I-10E.

The car failed to yield to an oncoming Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Causey. The motorcycle crashed into the Ford. Due to the impact, Causey was thrown from the motorcycle. The rider suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

Impairment is not believed to be involved in the crash, but toxicology samples were taken from both drivers for analysis. It is unknown whether excessive speed contributed to the accident. No charges have been filed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
