Crews responded following a rollover crash on a highway transition ramp in San Francisco.
As per the initial information, the traffic accident involving a wood chipper truck took place on the transition from southbound Highway 101 to eastbound Interstate 80. The early reports showed that a wood chipper truck overturned and spilled its load on a highway transition ramp in San Francisco, impacting the busy afternoon commute to the Bay Bridge.
According to the authorities, there was a large amount of wood chips in the road along a stretch where there is no shoulder. A Caltrans crew responded to the scene with a sweeper to clean up the mess. It is unknown if the incident caused any injuries.
One lane on the transition road was closed down and the second lane was open. As of 2:40 p.m., both lanes were reopened but traffic was still very heavy. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
