Authorities identified 72-year-old David Bermudez who died after a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

On Monday, authorities confirmed that 72-year-old David Bermudez, of Long Beach, died of his injuries at a hospital following a pedestrian crash that happened on Nov 12 in Long Beach.

Bermudez received injuries at around 6:20 p.m. Nov. 12 following a hit-and-run accident at Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. Bermudez was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

The preliminary investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking southbound across Artesia Boulevard west of Atlantic Avenue, outside of a crosswalk, when a westbound vehicle hit him.

The vehicle involved then left the scene before officers arrived. An eyewitness described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark-colored Toyota Camry. Authorities have not provided any description of the suspect.

The incident remains under active review.
