Authorities identified 61-year-old Timothy Christopher Eller who died in a pedestrian crash (Austin, TX)

Authorities identified 61-year-old Timothy Christopher Eller as the man who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in South Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 2:15 a.m. in the 4500 block of Menchaca Road, just south of the intersection with West Ben White Boulevard. The investigation reports showed that a Toyota Tacoma was heading northbound when it hit a pedestrian who was in the roadway.

Timothy Christopher Eller, 61, was declared dead at the scene a short time later. On the other hand, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officials. It is unknown if impairment played a part in the accident.

An investigation is continuing.
