Authorities identified 55-year-old Lewis Kemp as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in west Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place near 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. Authorities actively responded to the area at 1:45 p.n. on Dec. 11 on reports of a crash. The incident involved a pickup truck traveling south down 75th Avenue and a sedan going west down Williams Street.

The preliminary reports showed that a sedan reportedly ran a stop sign and crashed into the truck, claiming the life of the driver inside. The driver of the sedan fled the scene on foot before police arrived. No description is available regarding the suspect.

The incident remains under active review.
