Authorities identified 52-year-old Kiet Do as the pedestrian who lost his life after a hit-and-run accident on Sunday night in Jefferson Parish.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash took place at about 8 p.m. on LA 428, near Park Place. 52-year-old Kiet Do, a resident of Gretna, died as a result of the tragic incident. The preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Do was walking in the eastbound lanes of LA 428 when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that left the scene after the crash.
After being struck, reports further said that Mr. Do was lying in the roadway when he was hit by several other vehicles. The area was very dark due to hurricane-triggered outages and it is possible that passing drivers did not see Mr. Do in the roadway.
The crash remains under active review.
