Authorities identified 52-year-old Alvaro Quinones as the homeless man who lost his life Saturday after being struck twice in the Chesterfield Square area of South Los Angeles.

The investigation reports showed that Quinones was crossing Western Avenue, just north of 65th Street at around 5 a.m. when he was hit by a northbound Sedan. The driver of the Sedan did to stop and render aid as required by law. While the victim was down in the roadway, he was hit by a second northbound vehicle and got trapped underneath.

That driver pulled over immediately and tried to render aid. Quinones was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. Officials described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white, early model, medium-sized sedan with tinted windows. No details were provided regarding the suspect.

The incident remains under active review.
