Authorities identified 38-year-old Arnell Banks who died after a motorcycle crash in Ottawa County (Ottawa County, MI)

Officials released the name of 38-year-old Arnell Banks, a resident of Marne, who lost his life following a motorcycle accident on the side of the highway on late Wednesday morning.

The fatal two-vehicle accident took place at about 11:45 a.m. along eastbound I-96 between the 24 and 25 mile markers in Tallmadge Township. The preliminary investigation revealed that a number of Ottawa County road commission trucks were parked along the highway as workers conducted maintenance.

Officers mentioned that there were several warning signs posted and the motorcyclist crashed into a truck that had a flashing sign attached. On arrival, emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist identified as Arnell Banks to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
