An auto-pedestrian accident injured 1 person in east Austin (Austin, TX)

On Saturday afternoon, one person suffered critical injuries after being struck by a car in east Austin.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at the intersection of Navasota Street and East 12th Street shortly before 4:30 p.m. Officers actively responded to the crash scene after getting reports of an unconscious pedestrian.

By 4:36p.m., emergency crews had transported the victim to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. Authorities asked the motorist to avoid the area and expect traffic delays. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
