A vehicle struck and killed a female pedestrian near De Zavala (San Antonio, TX)

On early Monday morning, a female pedestrian lost her life after getting hit by a vehicle on the northwest side.

The preliminary reports showed that the woman’s body was found on the highway at about 3:45 a.m. somewhere between De Zavala Road and Huebner Road. The reports further revealed that a vehicle reportedly struck a woman on the main lanes of the highway. She was declared deceased at the scene.

Authorities believe the vehicle that struck the woman may have left the scene. No arrests have been made as yet. A stretch of I-10 was opened again to traffic after being closed down for approximately two hours. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
