On Wednesday night, two pedestrians lost their lives after being hit by a vehicle in south Houston.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place on South Main and 610 at about 8:50 p.m. The early reports revealed that a Dodge Ram hit the man and woman when they were attempting to cross lanes in the area. The victims reportedly crossed one side and had gotten onto the median, but they were not able to go across the other side.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The driver was evaluated for possible signs of intoxication. The driver agreed to allow the officials to take his vehicle and other evidence that would be analyzed to find out whether charges would be filed.
An investigation continues.
