On late Saturday night, a 58-year-old man from Las Vegas lost his life in a two-vehicle accident in South Valley.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the incident took place at around 11:50 p.m. on Russell Road near Rogers Street wherein a moped and a Lamborghini were involved. Police reported that a blue 2017 TaoTao moped was traveling westbound on Russell in the center lane. The blue 2017 Lamborghini Huracan was going west at an extremely high rate of speed approaching the moped.
The Lamborghini rear-ended the moped as a result of which the rider died on the scene. The driver of the Lamborghini was identified as 32-year-old Andrew Rodriguez, a resident of El Paso, Texas. The driver of the Lamborghini appeared impaired by alcohol and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
An investigation is underway.
