Two people lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler overnight in Memphis.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at about 1 a.m. in southeast Memphis in the 2800 block of Getwell Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that the driver failed to maintain control of their vehicle and crashed into the other vehicle.
Officers confirmed that a driver and a passenger in one of the vehicles died as a result of the accident. The identities of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
