On Sunday, a man suffered critical injuries following a rollover crash on the South Side.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 4:15 a.m. in the 2200 block of IH-35 S. The preliminary investigation showed that a man was traveling south on IH-35 in a pickup truck when his vehicle went off the road and crashed into a guardrail before hitting a concrete wall. The truck continued south and flipped multiple times. The man was ejected from the vehicle as he was not buckled up at the time of the collision.

After that, the truck continued sliding south where it hit a second car that was stopped on the shoulder of the freeway before it finally slid to a stop. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the victim to a local hospital with critical injuries. Alcohol is suspected to be involved in the crash. No other details have been provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
