A rollover crash hospitalized an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy near Colfax (Colfax, WA)

On Monday morning, an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, both from Seattle, suffered injuries and were sent to a Spokane hospital near Colfax.

The incident took place at about 5:00 a.m. on State Route 26, West of Colfax. According to the officers, 33-year-old Jessica Roberts of Seattle was driving an SUV Eastbound when she fell asleep. The SUV rolled off the highway as a result of which her passengers, an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy were ejected from the vehicle.

Roberts was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, but the children were not properly restrained, police stated. On arrival, medics transported the children to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Roberts was also taken to Whitman Hospital in Colfax.

An investigation into the rollover crash is underway at this time.
