A pickup truck crash killed 1 person on US-23 (Pittsfield Township, MI)

On early Tuesday, one person was killed after a pickup truck crash in Washtenaw County.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place on southbound US-23, close to Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a pickup truck was ejected from the vehicle into the woods due to the accident. The person suffered major injuries and died at the scene.

Officials reported that one other person required treatment, but it seems that person was injured in a separate crash. There was also a car vs. deer collision in the area around the same time. Authorities shut down lane on U.S. 23 for several hours as crews worked at the scene. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time.

Michigan State Police are investigating the crash.
