According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Lafayette on Sunday.
The crash happened in eastbound Highway 24 lanes near Oak Hill Road at around 10:25 a.m.
According to the investigators, a Toyota Yaris and an unknown person were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the driver of the Toyota Yaris had left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median.
The driver of the Toyota and the passenger suffered significant injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. The passenger succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office did not reveal the name and identities of the victims in the accident.
