A Metro train struck and took the life of a pedestrian near Downtown Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

On Thursday, one person died after getting struck by a Metro A Line train near downtown Los Angeles.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the intersection of 24th Street and Long Beach Avenue at around 7:40 a.m. after getting reports of a pedestrian accident. The early reports showed that a Metro train was southbound when it hit a pedestrian. Bus shuttles were set to carry rail passengers between the Vernon and Washington stations.

The victim suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. The incident did not lead to any other injuries. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under review.
