On early Wednesday, a man lost his life following a motorcycle crash in Sorrento Valley.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place just after 6:30 a.m. close to 11585 Sorrento Valley Road in which a car and a motorcycle were involved. The early reports showed that a man in a black, two-door Scion was southbound attempting to make a turn across northbound traffic when the northbound motorcycle collided with the car.

The motorcyclist, only identified as a man in his 30s, succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene despite the life-saving efforts by first responders. It is unknown if the car driver received injuries as a result of the collision. Officials will publicly reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.

An investigation is ongoing.
