On Tuesday, one person was killed following a multi-vehicle wreck involving a propane truck in Dickinson.
The fatal incident took place at about 4 p.m. on Algoa-Friendswood Road and FM 517 in which five vehicles were involved. According to the officials, one vehicle was traveling west on FM 517 when the driver swerved into the eastbound lane and crashed into a propane truck. The force of the collision caused the propane truck to flip over and struck at least two other vehicles.
The propane truck and the vehicle that was hit both caught fire but the propane tank did not burst. As per the reports, the driver of the passenger vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The propane truck driver was taken to a local hospital for observation.
The current condition of the other drivers is unknown at this time. The road remains shut down as a HAZMAT crew vent the left over propane from the truck to pull it back upright. The authorities will reveal the identity of the victim after notifying the next of kin.
